How to setup your email on Microsoft Windows Mail (using Windows Vista)

These instructions show you how to configure your email account with ph9 / uporium / Antiques Web Design. To set up non-ph9 / uporium / Antiques Web Design email accounts, contact the company that has provided you with that email account

Please read the following BEFORE proceeding:-

  • Please make sure you follow these instructions in every detail otherwise they might not work.

  • These instructions are written for Microsoft Windows Mail which runs on the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. See the next point if you're unsure which version you use.

  • We are only an email service provider, and do not provide Outlook as it is made by Microsoft rather than us, so please note:-
    • We do not provide warranty on your use of Microsoft Outlook as it is not manufactured by us. These instructions are meant as a guide only
    • If you have problems with it or if it doesn't work correctly please either contact your regular IT support person (if you have one) or alternatively contact our IT Support partners Them Digital who provide computer and IT Support Services. You can contact them on support@themdigital.co.uk or on +44 (0)20 7490 2163. They charge for their services separately.



1) In Windows Mail, go to the Tools menu and click on Accounts....




2) Click on the Add button in the upper right.



3) In the Select Account Type window, double-click on E-mail Account.



4) In the Your Name window, type in the name you want your recipients to see when they receive your e-mails, then click on Next.



5) In the Internet E-mail Address window, type in your username you recieved in your welcome pack, then click on Next.



6) In the Set up e-mail servers window, enter the e-mail server which is mail.ph9mail.co.uk as shown below.



7) In the Internet Mail Logon window, enter your username and password (you don`t need to enter the password, but if you do, you will automatically log on to the e-mail server everytime you open Windows Mail as long as the Remember Password box is ticked).




8) You should see the following screen; make sure Do not download my e-mail and folders at this time box unticked, then click Finish.




Once this window is closed, Click the Tools menu, and then click Accounts.

Under Mail, click your e‑mail account, and then click Properties.

Click the Servers tab, and then, under Outgoing Mail Server, select the My server requires authentication check box.

Congratulations, you have successfully set up Windows Mail to handle your e-mail!
