Can I cancel my domain name? | |
Yes, although within the limitations of how the internet works, and with potential consequences...
Cancelling a domain name within the 60 to 30 day notice period prior to us renewing it for you... If you`ve received an email 60 days before your domain name is going to be renewed and you`ve decided you no longer need the domain name and don`t want it to renew, please email us and we`ll cancel it for you. Please note however that this usually can`t be reversed... so once you`ve let go of the domain name it will most likely be gone and available at some point on the general internet to be purchased by your competitors or someone else that might want it! Unless you`re 110% sure we`d recommend holding on to any domain names you have. Cancelling a domain name you`ve already paid to register or renew... If you have a domain name already registered or renewed with us that you don`t need any more then as above it can be cancelled for you but please remember this can`t be reversed! Take a look at the above text for more information. I`ve changed my mind about renewing, even though I`ve missed the notice period... We send you an email 60 days before renewing your domain name to let you know we`re going to do it in 30 days time and giving you the option to cancel it. We renew domain names automatically so that clients don`t loose them (which they really don`t want to happen in the majority of cases!). If you`ve decided after this 30 days that you don`t want to renew the domain name and we`ve already invoiced for it then unfortunately it`s too late. We`ve already paid to renew the domain name on your behalf and can`t cancel the renewal for you. Sorry! However if you`d like to prevent it renewing next time, please just let us know and we`ll turn off the automatic renewal. |
