My mailshot is stuck saying 'under review'

Scenario

1. You're using CakeMail to send a mailshot
2. The mailshot hasn't been sent out
3. When viewing the mailshot on CakeMail, it says 'under review' next to it
4. This mailshot has been 'under review' for over 24 hours

What's Happened?

When creating a mailshot with CakeMail, their automated process ensures the legitimacy of the email, screening for spam or malicious content.

It's worth noting that certain browser extensions, like ad blockers, may unintentionally insert unwanted content into your mailshot to prevent pop-up advertisements. This is a byproduct of how ad-blocking software functions and shouldn't raise concerns, however this is the most likely cause for your mailshot being stuck 'under review' by CakeMail, as they aren't able to determin the legitimacy of the mailshot due to the additional content inserted by the ad blocking software

How do I resolve?

The most effective approach is prevention rather than cure when dealing with unwanted artifacts in a mailshot. Once the adblocker has inserted the unwanted content, removal of this content can be technically challenging without disrupting the mailshot. To avoid such issues, follow these guidelines when creating a mailshot:
  1. Exercise caution not to include any links in your mailshot that could associate you with spam or undesirable web content
  2. Disable your adblocker while using CakeMail, or alternatively, create your campaign in a private/incognito window in your web browser.
  3. Recreate your mailshot and schedule / send as normal (Whilst doing the above 2 points)
  4. Delete the mailshot stuck 'under review'
