How do I integrate SumUp with my website? | |
Step 1) Create a SumUp AccountIf you do not have a SumUp account, then please visit http://faq.ph9.com/faq_question.asp?key=1371&topic=how-do-i-get-a-sumup-account for instructions on how to get one
Step 2) Log in to your SumUp Account on SumUp's Developer PortalIn order for you to get the required information to integrate SumUp with your website, you'll need to log in to your account using the link below: Then simply: a) Press the 'Login' button in the top right-hand corner b) Enter your account credentials and log in
Step 3) Generate required keysYou'll now need to generate some credentials so we can integrate with your SumUp account. To do this simply:
a) From the top right-hand corner, click 'Account'
b) Click 'API Keys' from the dropdown
c) You'll see a key called 'Public key' already there. Where it says 'Token', simply copy this token and save it for later use
d) Next, you'll need to generate a 'Secret key'. To do this, under 'Name your API key', enter 'Website' and then press the 'Create' button
e) You'll then be prompted with a window showcasing your secret key. Either download this or copy it, but make sure to save it for later use, as once you click off this window you won't be able to see it again
Step 4) Find your merchant account IDWhen you create an account with SumUp, you'll be assigned a unique ID called the merchant account ID. To find this simply:
a) Navigate to https://www.sumup.com/en-us/ and log in to your account b) After logging in to your account, you'll see your merchant ID in the top right corner as seen in the screenshot below. Make a note of this as you'll need it later.
Your merchant account ID is the code below your company name as see in the below screenshot
Step 5) Enter all the information into your website manager
1) Log in to your website manager 2) From the left-hand menu, select 'Settings' then 'Shop settings' 3) Click the 'Payment provider' tab 4) Click 'SumUp' 5) Scroll down to the section called 'General & Authentication' 6) Enter your 'Merchant Code' into the Merchant Code field 7) Enter your 'Public key' into the Public key field 8) Enter your 'Secret key' into the Secret key field 9) Press the 'Update' button at the top or bottom of the page
Step 6) Make sure it's all workingNow that you've added your SumUp details, it's important to ensure that everything is working, as the last thing you'd want is for customers not to be able to check out on your website. As such, you can check that SumUp is working by: 1) Logging into your website manager 2) From the top right-hand corner, press 'Open website' 3) Add an item to your basket and go through the checkout process 4) On step 4 of the checkout process, click the checkout button below SumUp 5) If this page opens to the SumUp payments widget, then your integration is working and all set up correctly. If not, then chances are you entered something incorrectly, so go through the previous steps again to make sure you've done everything correctly.
Should you need any assistance with getting this all set up, you're more than welcome to log a technical support ticket with your login details, and we'd be happy to do this for you on your behalf.
